A tucked-away café, bakery and flower shop on a business park in Appleby Magna, right opposite Appleby Dog Park. Dogs are genuinely welcomed with a full dog menu including puppuchinos, and there's plenty of outdoor seating across the car park with sunny and shaded spots.
Loughborough, Leicestershire
Murphy spent most of the wait whining at every other dog in the garden — until his sausage arrived and suddenly nothing else mattered. Puppachino and a beard full of cream followed, in that order.
Whitwick, Leicestershire
The kind of stop-off that makes you reorganise your whole walking week around it. Fifty pence puppachinos, complimentary treats by the till, and built-in dog beds under the bench seating — this is a proper dog-first café, not just a dog-tolerant one.
Newhall Valley, Sutton Coldfield
Fresh coffee, homemade food and a menu designed just as much for dogs as it is for humans. Nestled on the edge of Newhall Valley Country Park, The Bark Bistro is the perfect place to stop before or after a walk.
Charnwood Alpacas Farm, Derbyshire
Murphy's first café visit without a walk beforehand — a genuine test of his ability to sit still when fully charged. He passed (mostly), the puppachino was excellent, and they were absolutely lovely when he got confused about the toilet arrangements.
Ashby De La Zouch
A proper pub garden pit stop after an evening walk. Murphy bounced, trained for bar snacks, and approved of the complimentary offerings. Staff didn't blink at the poodle-cross chaos.
Donisthorpe, Leicestershire
A traditional village pub on the heritage trail with a huge garden, well spaced tables outside and proper dog bowls. Inside was a bit too cosy for Murphy's excitable energy, but the outdoor setup had everything we needed.
Coalville, Leicestershire
A post-walk stop with a Paws of Fame wall, a proper furry friends menu and tables spaced out enough that an excitable Murphy didn't feel like we were taking up too much room. Part café, part local history lesson, entirely dog-friendly.
Market Bosworth, Leicestershire
A proper pub stop after Market Bosworth Park — dogs welcome in the bar, courtyard seating out back, and a water bowl by the door. Not trying too hard, just doing the basics well.
Ticknall, Derbyshire
A traditional country pub with a beer garden and outdoor water station. Dogs are welcome in the snug bar area, though the layout makes solo visits with your dog a bit of a juggling act.
Mountsorrel, Leicestershire
It's not a cafe. It's a dog cafe that happens to allow humans in. Leicestershire's best puppachino, air-conditioned furniture you're actively encouraged to get paws on, and a welcome committee of other dogs who will absolutely help themselves to your treats.
Staunton Harold, Leicestershire
A gorgeous courtyard café with a proper dog menu, puppachinos, and filled water bowls everywhere. Murphy ordered The Full Hound and has thoughts. Perfect stop-off before exploring the stunning Staunton Harold grounds.

Murphy's first ever café visit and honestly, it couldn't have gone better. Genuinely dog-friendly — not just dogs-tolerated — with a canine menu, treats at the bar, and his very first puppachino. I felt completely relaxed the whole time, which says everything.
