## About
We stopped at The Halfway House in Donisthorpe today after our walk — it's part of the heritage trail and felt like a proper traditional village pub, the kind that's busy for all the right reasons.

Dogs are asked to be kept on leads, which was fine by us. Inside was a bit too cosy for Murphy's brand of chaos — narrow spaces and excitable Cavapoo energy don't always mix — but the garden had everything we needed so we stayed outside.

The garden is huge, with tables spaced nicely apart. That spacing matters when you've got a dog who thinks every other dog needs an enthusiastic introduction. Murphy could see other dogs, but the distance kept things calm rather than chaotic.

There were plenty of dog treats available at the bar, and fresh, clean water bowls for post-walk rehydration. Murphy approved of both immediately!

There's a big car park too, so this works just as well as a destination stop rather than only as a post-walk reward.

Would definitely stop again — especially on a sunny day when the garden's the main event.

## Murphy's Verdict
*Reviewed by Murphy, Cavapoo and chief sniff tester at Murphy & Me — The Dog Edit*
> "Mum said the inside was 'too cosy for my energy' which I think means I'm not allowed to bounce off strangers in narrow spaces. Fair. The garden was excellent though — I could see other dogs but didn't have to immediately befriend them, the treats were plentiful, and the water bowl was cold and clean. Would return for the garden alone 🐾"
