## About
By the time we reached The Deer Barn and Deer Hut, Murphy had already seen deer, splashed through streams and covered several miles of Bradgate Park.

Naturally, he was absolutely exhausted.

Until food appeared.

Then he made a miraculous recovery. 🐶😂

The Deer Barn Visitor Centre sits roughly halfway through the park, just beyond the house ruins, making it an ideal place to stop, regroup and refuel before heading off for the second half of your adventure.

The Deer Barn Tea Room offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with plenty of picnic benches, grassy areas and beautiful views across the lake and surrounding parkland. There were lots of people enjoying lunch, coffee and cake, but there was also plenty of space to spread out without feeling crowded.

For dog owners, it's particularly well thought out. There are several water bowls outside, plenty of seating options and easy access to the visitor centre and toilets.

We decided to make a quick stop at the Deer Hut instead because, at this point, Murphy was operating under the belief that there were still approximately one million things left to sniff. 🐾

The Deer Hut is perfect if you want something quick before carrying on. They were serving drinks, bagels, waffles and snacks, and the service was fast and friendly.

While I grabbed a drink, Murphy was treated to a puppachino.

Now, when someone says "puppachino", I normally imagine a small cup of cream.

This was not a small cup of cream.

This was a lifestyle choice. 🤣

Within moments he had cream on his beard, cream on his nose and cream somehow migrating towards his eyebrows. Any dignity he had left after paddling through streams earlier in the day disappeared completely.

Thankfully, Bradgate Park provides a convenient stream-based cleaning service a little further along the route. 😅

What we loved most was how dog-friendly the whole area felt. Nobody batted an eyelid at muddy paws, excited dogs or owners trying to negotiate puppachino-covered faces. It felt relaxed, welcoming and genuinely geared towards visitors exploring the park with their dogs.

For us, it was the perfect halfway stop.

For Murphy, it was apparently the greatest thing to happen all day.

At least until he spotted another deer. 🦌🐾

I found water.

I found whipped cream.
