## About
It was too warm for a lunchtime walk, but we'd been wanting to visit The Chilli Bean Dog Cafe for a while — so Murphy had his first stop-off without a walk. I was nervous about his energy levels, but he was actually golden.

Everyone there made a real fuss of Murphy, which was lovely. Despite a wander round outside before we went in, Murphy got a little confused about the toilet arrangements and… well, before I could stop him, he tinkled. They were absolutely brilliant about it and didn't make me feel awkward in the slightest — which, when you're on your own with an excitable adolescent Cavapoo, is genuinely appreciated.

Murphy was very happy with his puppachino, which came with extra treats. They also have a dog menu featuring very cute themed treat boxes — fish and chips, full English breakfast, all locally made natural treats by Doody Delights. There's a huge selection of treats to buy, too.

We sat in the shade outside and there was plenty of space for Murphy to play some find-it games whilst I indulged in the most incredible cheese scone (proper butter, onion chutney) and mango iced tea. They brought everything to the table, which is really helpful when you're solo with a dog who hasn't had a walk yet.

Inside there are beds for dogs, and it's obvious a lot of thought has gone into making sure dogs are the real VIPs — whilst not forgetting about the humans.

Open Thursday to Sunday, 8:30am–4pm. Plenty of parking on site. The café is part of Charnwood Alpacas, a 110-acre farm home to over 500 animals — friendly dogs welcome in the café and on the courtyard.

## Murphy's Verdict
*Reviewed by Murphy, Cavapoo and chief sniff tester at Murphy & Me — The Dog Edit*
> "First café visit without a walk = risky move, but the puppachino with extra treats was worth Mum's stress levels, and honestly the fact that nobody made her feel bad about my slight toilet confusion means I'd absolutely go back. 10/10 for treats, 11/10 for not making Mum want to disappear into the floor. 🐾"
