## About
This countryside loop from Prestop Park Woods through Blackfordby, John’s Wood and finishing in Shellbrook offers a really good mix of open space and well-trodden paths — ideal if you need a bit of room but still want a proper sniffy walk.

One of the things we enjoyed most was the variety. The route combines open fields, woodland sections and quieter paths, which kept things interesting for both humans and dogs. There was plenty for Murphy to investigate along the way and absolutely no shortage of smells to inspect.

The wider sections make it particularly useful if you need a little more space from other walkers or dogs, and there are enough different environments along the route to keep curious noses entertained from start to finish.

A particular highlight for Murphy was reaching Shellbrook, where he managed a little paddle to round off the walk. Judging by his enthusiasm, this may have been the highlight of the entire adventure 🐾💦

It’s worth knowing that parts of the route can become muddy, especially after wet weather, so we’d definitely recommend suitable footwear. There’s also a livestock electric fence in the first field after Prestop Park Woods, so it’s worth keeping an eye out if you’re walking with an inquisitive dog.

Overall, this is a lovely varied countryside walk with plenty of space, plenty of sniffing opportunities and enough variety to keep both dogs and humans happy.
