## About
One of our favourite early morning walks is Barton Marina, around 13 miles from Tamworth (about a 24-minute drive). 🚗 It's a walk that suits all three of my dogs for different reasons. Poppy loves the flat paths, while Rufus and Evie are much more interested in the little woodland trails that branch off from the main route, creating plenty of opportunities for extra sniffaris. 🌳👃🐶

The route takes you around two large lakes and, if you get there early enough, it's incredibly peaceful. 🌅 The water is usually lovely and still, and I always seem to end up stopping for "just one more photo" of the reflections. 📸💙

One thing to be aware of is the number of geese around the main car park. 🪿 There are usually lots of them, so it's worth keeping your dog close when you first arrive before you head off around the lakes. 🦮

We always park in the free car park on the right as you enter the marina. 🅿️ From there it's an easy loop around both lakes before wandering along the marina front, which is always lovely to walk through. ⚓

If you're visiting later in the morning, I'd definitely recommend stopping at Indulgence. ☕ The coffee is great and, even better, dogs get a complimentary puppachino when their humans buy a drink. 🐶🥛 Unfortunately, we're usually there far too early for it to be open, which is something Poppy finds very disappointing! 😂

The wooded sections provide plenty of shade on warmer days, while the lakes make for lovely views all the way around. 🌳🌞 There are signs asking dogs (or humans!) not to go into the water, so this is definitely more of an admire-the-view kind of walk rather than a paddling one. 👀💦

The loop we usually do is around 1.5 miles, making it the perfect walk when you just fancy a relaxed wander rather than a big hike. 🚶‍♀️ It's got a bit of everything – open lakeside paths, shady woodland, plenty of sniffs and a lovely marina to finish. 🌿🌊

It's one of those walks that's easy to come back to time and time again. The dogs get their sniffs, I get my photos, and if we time it right, we all get coffee and puppachinos afterwards. ☕🐶📸 Definitely one of our favourite local walks. ❤️🐾
