💦🐾 Woodlands Waters, Yoxall – A New Addition to Woodlands Paddock 🐾💦

If you've read our review of Woodlands Paddock in Yoxall, you'll know it's already one of our favourite dog parks. ❤️ So when it closed for a week or so to have a natural water area added, we were very excited to be one of the first to try it out on reopening day!

It's not a separate dog park, but we thought the new addition deserved a review of its own because what a brilliant idea! 💦🐶

Rufus and Evie needed absolutely no encouragement and were straight in the water without hesitation! 😂 Evie then decided that simply being in the water wasn't enough and spent her time doing laps of the water like she was training for the Doggy Olympics. 🏊‍♀️🐾

Poppy was a little more reserved. She's never been quite as keen on water since a wave gave her a bit of a fright in Cornwall one year. 🌊😂 But after a little hesitation, she decided it wasn't so bad after all and was soon happily splashing around with the others. ❤️

And watching Poppy go from “I'm not sure about this…” to happily getting involved really made us appreciate what a great addition this is.

If you've got a puppy you're wanting to introduce to water, or a dog who is nervous around it, we think this is such a lovely way to let them experience it without any pressure. There are no waves, no other dogs splashing around and no extra triggers adding to the experience. Just your dog, the water and plenty of time to investigate it at their own pace. 🐾💦

Basically, your own natural water park for the hour! 😂

We did take a towel with us to dry them off afterwards, but actually by the time they'd spent the rest of the hour racing around Woodlands Paddock, they were pretty much dry anyway. 🌾🐶

Although, thanks to Evie repeatedly running past me and splashing me in the process, I was probably the one who needed the towel most! 😂💦

"Rufus says WATER! Evie says WATER! Poppy says… okay, WATER! 💦😂 Rufus went straight in, Evie did approximately 47 laps and Poppy decided it wasn't quite as scary as she remembered. Mum says it's a brilliant addition and a really gentle way for dogs to discover water at their own pace. 🐾❤️"

Our verdict: We already loved Woodlands Paddock, but Woodlands Waters is a fantastic addition. It's fun for dogs who already love the water, but we think its real value is giving nervous or inexperienced dogs the chance to discover it in their own time, without pressure. 💦🐶❤️

And yes… we'll definitely be booking it again! 🐾
