Arrived 32 minutes before the car park closed 🤦🏼‍♀️

Fortunately Murphy can achieve a surprising amount of sniffing in that time 😂

The timing did have one unexpected benefit though... we practically had the place to ourselves 😍🐕

Although our visit was brief, it was more than enough to know we'll definitely be back.

There were winding woodland paths, old railway tracks from the site's mining history, little clearings to explore and some steps leading off to another section that we'll have to investigate next time.

The reserve links into a Coleorton Loop too, which can turn this into a much longer walk and we're already excited to explore more 🐶🤎

PARKING EDIT: One of our lovely followers has shared a useful tip 😊

If the main car park is closed, there is a roadside pull-in a little further along the road where many visitors park. From there, you can cross the road and access the reserve through an unlocked gate. Super handy to know 🌳🐶

It was such a lovely little find and felt much more peaceful and tucked away than we expected 🌿
