# Buzzard's Valley Nature Trail

Buzzard's Valley doesn't open until 10am, and as we knew there was more there than just the Nature Trail, we weren't quite sure how busy it might be. With Evie being nervous, I decided to let her have a different walk this morning and take Rufus and Poppy along instead. I was also meeting a friend for our monthly walk and catch-up, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to scope the place out first. 🐾❤️ As it turned out, we needn't have worried – it could have been the wet weather, but it was really quiet and we only saw two other dogs during the whole walk.

The Nature Trail itself is around 1.5 miles and is dog friendly, although dogs are required to be kept on lead. There is one section where the trail runs alongside the busy road connecting Sutton to Tamworth, so even if nobody was enforcing the lead rule, I would definitely keep dogs on lead here. 🐕‍🦺🚗

The trail has been kept as natural as possible to give nature an undisturbed home, and there's a good variety of surfaces along the way. 🌳🌿 There was a little mud around when we visited, so walking boots or wellies would definitely be advisable, particularly heading into the autumn months. It wouldn't be suitable for pushchairs either. There is a clear route around the trail, but there are different options as you go, so you can change things up a little. Although the surroundings stayed fairly similar as we made our way around, it was simply nice to get out, enjoy some fresh air and have a wander somewhere different. 🌿🐾

The area is also popular with people who come for the fishing lakes, and although you can't actually walk around the lakes, you do get glimpses of them as you make your way around the trail, which adds a lovely little bit of variety to the scenery. 🎣💚

There is a little dog-friendly café before the Nature Trail. We stopped before our walk and grabbed a takeaway drink. ☕😂 There were a few dogs in the café and the tables were quite close together. Rufus and Poppy were absolutely fine waiting for our drinks, but I think the set-up would feel a little too close for a longer stay and it definitely isn't somewhere I would take Evie at the moment. The drinks were also a little on the pricey side, so although it was a nice stop, it didn't quite make the cut for a Murphy "stop-off". 😂🐾

One of the downsides is that there's only one bin on the whole trail, and that's up by the car park. 🗑️🐾 So if you're walking the full route, you'll need to be prepared to carry any poo bags with you until you get back to the start — and takeaway cups in our case! 😂☕

As for the walk itself, Rufus had a few sniffs but didn't seem overly bothered by them! 😂 Poppy was happy wandering along, enjoying the change of scenery. But we definitely think we'd need Evie, our resident investigator, to conduct a proper and comprehensive review of all the smells! 👃🐶

"Rufus says there were some smells, but nothing that particularly impressed him. Poppy enjoyed the peaceful wander and says it was nice to have some new scenery. Evie says she needs to come next time because clearly nobody else is qualified to conduct a proper sniff investigation! 👃🌿😂"

Would we visit again? Yes, with Evie in tow now that we've had a chance to see what it's like. Would it become one of our regular walks? Probably not, but it's definitely worth a visit when you fancy a change of scenery. 🌿🐾

A lovely, natural walk – just remember your boots! 🥾🌧️🐶
