## About
🌿🐾 Appleby Magna Dog Park – Our Midweek Go-To 🐾🌿

Located in Leicestershire but only around 15 minutes from the top of Tamworth, Appleby Magna Dog Park has become our go-to for a midweek dog park trip. 🚗🐾

If it's midweek and the dogs need a proper run around – mainly Evie! 😂 – this is where we head. You can book for 25 or 50 minutes, and for our three it's just £5 for 25 minutes or £10 for 50 minutes. 💷

There's something really easy about this dog park. It's easy to book, easy to get to and, once you're through the gate, it's easy to just let the dogs do their own thing. ❤️

The field is around 4 acres and, rather than being wide and open, it's long with grass deliberately kept longer and mown paths running through it. 🌾🐾 The dogs can weave in and out, explore the different paths or simply disappear into the long grass.

And this is exactly what Evie loves! 😂 She spends most of her time running in and out of the long grass like she's on some sort of very important mission. 👃🌿 Meanwhile, Rufus and Poppy are usually happy doing their own thing – sniffing, wandering and generally enjoying being outside.

There is some agility equipment if your dogs fancy doing something a little more energetic. There's a tunnel which, apparently, is great fun according to Evie! 😂🐾 There are also some logs and tree trunks dotted around the field which make for some interesting climbing and exploring. 🌳🐶 There's also a little hut where the humans can sit, which is handy if you want to take five.

The booking system is really straightforward and your entry code is sent through an hour before your booking. 🔐 There's a secure gate and a small car park which fits around two cars, so it's worth bearing that in mind if you're meeting someone there.

There is one thing I'd definitely mention though: if it's been raining and the field is muddy, think carefully before booking. And I say that from personal experience...

Last February, after a particularly rainy spell, I took Rufus and Poppy here and unfortunately Poppy slipped in the mud and damaged her cruciate ligament. 💔🐾 This absolutely wasn't the park's fault, and we've been countless times since Poppy recovered.

The website now has a pop-up warning when the field has been experiencing wet weather, advising people to take the mud into consideration before booking, and you have to close the warning before you can book. 👍 I actually think that's a really useful addition, and I'd definitely recommend taking the warning seriously if the weather has been particularly wet.

I share Poppy's story not to put anyone off the field, but because it's something I would have appreciated knowing before that particular visit. When the ground is dry, we really enjoy it and have returned many, many times since. ❤️

Another bonus is the little hidden gem nearby – The Cutting Garden Café. ☕🌸 It's a lovely place to stop after a dog park visit, so definitely check out our review of that too!
