## About
Murphy seemed genuinely baffled by the sheer amount of grass available and kept gravitating back towards the paths, as if someone had forgotten to tell him the rules. That lasted until he spotted another dog absolutely legging it across the field. You could see the penny drop. Oh. _That's_ what we do here.

Cue zoomies. Proper ones. The kind where his back legs nearly overtake his front ones and he looks both thrilled and slightly out of control. It was brilliant 😆

The park itself has a really lovely variety — open grassland, wildflower meadows, woodland trails and paths around the lake. It's the kind of place where you can let them stretch their legs properly without losing sight of them, which felt like a nice balance.

We covered just over 2 miles in about an hour, though that included several extended sniff sessions and one lengthy pause to observe a family of ducks.

Facilities were genuinely thoughtful. There's a dog wash station (which we'll definitely be using next time), water bowls dotted about, a tether point by the toilets, and plenty of benches if you fancy a sit-down. Poo bins were plentiful too, which always gets a quiet round of applause from us.

Parking was straightforward — loads of space — though £4 for just over an hour did feel a touch steep. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing if you're popping in for a quick loop.

All in, this is a really solid choice if your dog needs proper space to burn off energy, or if they — like Murphy — need a gentle reminder that fields are for running, not just walking politely around the edge of.

## Murphy's Verdict

> "Took me a minute to understand the brief, but once I worked out that all that grass was *for me*, I had an excellent time. The zoomies were strong. The ducks were observed. The wildflower meadow smelled like a mystery novel. Would zoom again 🐾"
