🌲🐾 Kalianna Grove – Secure Dog Park

🌳 Nine acres of natural woodland, trails everywhere and enough smells to keep even our resident investigator, Evie, with her nose to the ground. To round off the summer holidays, the Tamworth Trio, plus their best friend Bailey – German Shepherd x Labrador – and his house guest Lottie – Bernese Mountain Dog x Poodle – decided that after visiting Camp Timbertail and Wild Woods, it would only be right to complete the woodland dog park trio and visit Kalianna Grove! 🐶🌲🐾

Kalianna Grove is run by the same company as Wild Woods, and just like that dog park, you get a Google Maps location when you book. 📍 I'd definitely recommend using this rather than relying on the postcode, as it takes you right to the sign where you need to turn off for the dog parks.

Now, a little warning about the journey... 😂 Once you leave the main track, all three parks involve a fairly long, very bumpy road. It's mostly gravel, but there are A LOT of bumps. 🚙💨 I'm always very grateful I'm not the designated driver! 😂

Of the three, though, Kalianna Grove definitely has the easiest parking area, with enough space for around 2–3 cars. 🚗🐾

Just like Wild Woods and Camp Timbertail, once you start walking into the trees, it feels like you've completely left the outside world behind. There are nine acres of natural forest to explore, with trail after trail leading you through the trees and over exposed tree roots. 🌿👃🐶

Some of the trails felt more open, so there weren't quite as many hiding spots for our favourite game of Hide and Seek with Evie 🙈🐶, but there were plenty of twists and turns to keep things interesting.

In fact, there were moments when the trails felt very similar to one another and it would have been quite easy to lose your bearings. At one point, even Rufus looked lost... and if you've read our other reviews, you'll know that Rufus normally considers himself our official woodland tour guide! 😂🐶🧭

There were also sticks everywhere. 🌳🪵 So if you've got a dog who thinks every walk should involve carrying, throwing or obsessively searching for sticks, this could be their idea of heaven!

For us, though, the biggest thing we noticed was the sniffing. 👃🌿 There seemed to be something particularly interesting about the scents in this woodland because Evie spent just as much time with her nose to the ground following trails as she did chasing Bailey and Lottie – which is saying something, because usually those three just become one big blur of fur charging through the trees! 😂🐕💨

There are bins dotted around the park, which are obviously useful for the less glamorous side of dog ownership 🗑️💩 but we also found ourselves using them as little landmarks when trying to work out where we'd been! 😂

There were also benches around the park, which all looked fairly new, and water was available too. 💧🪑

By the end, all five dogs had properly enjoyed themselves. Bailey, Evie and Lottie had their moments of chasing each other, Rufus had taken on the responsibility of deciding which trail we should follow, and Poppy did what Poppy does best – joining in when she fancied it before returning to check where we were. ❤️🐾

🌲 So, which woodland dog park wins?

Having now visited all three, we think they each have their own little speciality:

👃 Best for sniffs: Kalianna Grove
💨 Best trails for running around: Wild Woods
🙈 Best Hide & Seek spots: Camp Timbertail

And honestly, that's what we love about these woodland fields. They're not just somewhere to let the dogs run around off lead – they give them the opportunity to sniff, explore, investigate, make choices and properly be dogs. 🌲🐾

If you don't mind the rather bumpy off-road journey to get there, Kalianna Grove – and the other two woodland parks – are definitely worth a visit. 💚

We'd barely made it back onto the main road before Evie was completely conked out asleep. 😂🐶💤 I'd say that's a pretty good sign that she'd had a successful final woodland adventure of the summer holidays. 🌲❤️
